Quinta do Carmo, also known as Quinta de Dona Maria, is located in Estremoz, in the Portuguese region of Alentejo.This estate has been producing wine for more than 130 years but it wasn't until the dawn of this millennium that Julio Bastos restored and expanded its ancient winery, maintaining the famous marble troughs or “lagares”, where the traditional foot treading is still used for many of the grapes.
