Very dark colour. Very intense aroma of mature fruits such as red fruits. In the mouth, being young, has a lot of freshness and intensity in tannins. After some years is very structured with a very long and complex aromas
Consumption
13 - 14ºC
Vinification
The fermentation occurs in a granite treading tanks (lagares). The grapes fermented for 3 days using the traditional treading by foot. The fermentation was interrupted by the addition of grape spirit (brandy) with 77% alc
Ageing
The first 6 months was in stainless steel tanks in a cellar with a temperature of 18ºC. Afterwards the wine was transferred into wooden - Portuguese oak - Tonel, where it remain during 2 years

<p></p><p>Quinta de Marrocos vineyards extend up to 180m altitude, on terraces supported by stone walls. Exposure to the north is one of the key points, favoring a slow maturation of grapes: the altitude offers warm temperatures, the river breeze cools the vineyards at night. The average slope of 80% prevents mechanization, requiring an "heroic" viticulture. All work is manual, a century-old heritage that we want to keep, in respect for the age of the vines and the quality of the grapes. The low yields are inherent to this type of vines, without irrigation, in low fertility and a slightly acid pH schist soils.</p>
