Sinds wanneer 1751 Ferreira naam is altijd synoniem geweest met hoge kwaliteit Portugees wijn. De geschiedenis van het merk wordt geïnterviewd met de geschiedenis van de evolutie van de Douro Region (demarceerde in 1756) en zijn Porto en tafelwijnen (Douro DoC).
Dona Antonia, met uitzonderlijke energie en een zeldzaam commercieel talent gaf grote impetus aan wijnbouw in Douro en was bekend voor haar daden van sociale welzijn in de regio. Haar intelligentie en vriendelijkheid verdienden haar de warme bewondering van haar minachting, die haar 'Ferreirinha' noemde.
