<p>On the nose, Cossart Gordon Malmsey 5 Years Old Madeira  displays a dark golden brown colour and offers a characteristic Madeira bouquet: raisins, toffee, nuts and hints of honey. The palate is rich, full-bodied and sweet, yet beautifully balanced by vibrant acidity. With about 110 g/L residual sugar and 19% ABV, it is perfectly suited to pairing with desserts—especially fruit, chocolate cakes, rich puddings—and cheeses. Bottled ready to enjoy, it remains stable and rewarding for several months after opening.</p>

Therefore they started storing as much Madeira Wine as possible, letting it slowly mature inside the barrels for future generations to be able to enjoy it further. For that reason, D’Oliveiras is the only Madeira Wine company that owns Madeira Wine bottles and Barrels from as far as the 1850’s that can still be commercially purchased.</p>
