Justino's Single Cask Sercial 2005 Madeira Wine

Justino's Single Cask Sercial 2005 is a special category, limited edition Madeira wine. It presents a clear amber hue with golden reflections. The aroma is very fresh and complex, with distinct notes of dried fruits such as almond skin and walnuts, candied citrus, resin, salty nuances, and subtle touches of toasted wood. On the palate, it stands out for its immense freshness and purity. The sharp, vibrant acidity, typical of the Sercial grape variety, dominates the palate, perfectly balancing the slight residual sweetness. The finish is typically long, dry, austere, and very persistent.

Tinta Negra grape variety is part of the ancient spirit of Madeira Island and is still the basis for the wines that have made the island famous. Outside Madeira Island, it is a rare grape variety that can only be found in regions where the sea is close by, taking on another name such as Molar in Colares, where it is practically extinct, Saborinho in the Azores, which is in the process of recovery, and the Canaries, where it takes on the name of TintaBastardo where it has very little expression. Not to be confused with Bastardo (aka Trosseau), its half-sister.
