For that reason, D’Oliveiras is the only Madeira Wine company that owns Madeira Wine bottles and Barrels from as far as the 1850’s that can still be commercially purchased.</p>

Following the traditional method of aging known as 'canteiro,' the wine is aged in oak barrels, under the natural heat in the cellars of the producer. This traditional method of aging contributes to the wine's complex oxidative characteristics and its distinct flavor profile. <br /><br />The aging process under these specific conditions lends a balanced moderate sweetness to Justino's Verdelho Colheita 2008 Madeira Wine, along with a linear acidity. The maturation over the years has imprinted the wine with pronounced notes of dried fruits, spices, and slight tropical hints. <p>On the nose, the Cossart Gordon Bual Colheita 2006 Madeira presents an amber colour with golden hues, brilliant and crystalline. Aromas are intense and distinctive, with notes of dried fruits and candied fruits, subtle spice, and biscuit. On the palate it is medium-rich, very balanced and delicate, culminating in a long, sumptuous finish with flavours of spices, figs, and candied dates macerated in brandy. Alcohol is 19% ABV, offering a decadent yet well-tempered sweetness that makes it a perfect contemplative wine, ideal after dessert or enjoyed slowly on its own.</p>
