Rosé dos Villões displays a vibrant ruby-pink hue. Its bouquet is intense, boasting notes of freshly crushed strawberries and a touch of vegetation. The first sip is fresh and crisp, with a noticeable acidity, complemented by an excellent salinity that lingers on the palate. This rosé exhibits outstanding persistence. It is the ideal companion to fish dishes, shellfish, and salads. However, it also has the volume and structure to pair well with white meat dishes. It is perfectly suited to Indian and Thai cuisine, as well as sushi.
Rosé dos Villões is a unique wine produced from the Tinta Negra grape variety. Tinta Negra is an ancient grape variety from the Madeiran islands, and is still the primary base for the wines that have made this island famous. It is a rare grape variety that can only be found in regions close to the sea, where it is known by other names such as Molar in the Colares region or Saborinho in the Azores region. However, it should not be confused with the Negra Mole from Algarve, as it is a distinct grape variety. In the past, its role seemed to be to "blush" the white wines and give them a certain golden appearance that was appreciated at the time. Here, we test the potential of this grape variety in a Rosé.
