The company founder – António Fernandes – started producing port and table wines in 1989. The company wines are made under the technical direction of chief winemaker Manuel Angel Areal with grapes harvested in the Douro Superior region, mostly from family owned vineyards. The total area of the family vines adds up to 50 hectares

Quinta do Vale da Perdiz owns a total area of 50 hectares of vineyards, in the Douro Superior region, divided into six “Quintas” where we can find all the traditional red grape varieties from the Douro region such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca.
