Quinta dos Avidagos Ex Tinto displays a great aromatic complexity with notes of white fruit, citrus touches of lime, and mineral and balsamic nuances. On the palate, it stands out for its creamy, buttery texture, balanced by a vibrant acidity that provides freshness and persistence. It is a gastronomic and elegant wine that challenges traditional expectations by combining the structure of a red grape variety with the lightness and liveliness of a great white from the Douro region.

Textura Wines is an organic viticulture project established in 2018 in the Dão region of Portugal. The project focuses on producing wines that express the specific terroir of the slopes of the Serra da Estrela.

The production is primarily divided into two sub-regions of Dão:

Gouveia (Serra da Estrela), where vineyards with granite soils and higher altitudes are found. These conditions give rise to wines with high acidity and a mineral profile, such as the Textura da Estrela range.

Penalva do Castelo (Terras de Azurara) is a transitional soil area where the Vinha Encoberta and the project's winery are located. The winery is a converted former textile industry.

The wines are crafted using indigenous grape varieties from the region (such as Encruzado and Bical for whites, and Jaen, Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, or Tinta Pinheira for reds), employing a philosophy of minimal intervention in the winery.

The Quinta do Côtto, in Cidadelhe, relatively close to the Régua, is a property of 75 hectares of vineyard and a plot built in the eighteenth century. The owners of the farm, the Montez Champalimaud family, exclusively produced Port wine until the beginning of the 20th century. In 1980 Miguel Champalimaud launched the first Quinta do Côtto Grande Escolha, consolidating the concept of Douro's quinta wines, which are still rare in the region.
The Quinta do Côtto brand has grown greatly in notoriety since then, until it became one of the most classic and prestigious references in the Douro region
