0Quinta do Espinho covers 20 hectares over Távora River on the left bank of Douro River, the wine culture centre of Douro Valley in the sub-region of Cima Corgo where some of the most emblematic Port Wine farms are situated.

Thirty years ago, one branch of the Macedo Pinto family has taken over Quinta do Espinho, driving it to the production of top class red wine in the Douro

It is an appealing wine, fresh and fruity, balancing the characteristic elegance of Douro wines with a good structure and acidity, making it pleasant and easy to drink
Vinification
Vinification is made in the traditional “lagar” of granite with controlled temperature at 25º. The malolactic fermentation occurred in stainless tank just after alcoholic fermentation
Ageing
After fermentation the wine is taken in inox tank. Partially aged infrench oak barrels

She holds a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Santiago de Compostela and a Master's degree in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of La Rioja. She began her trajectory as an oenologist in 1999 at Quinta do Côtto, and later worked as an oenologist at Quita do Crasto between 2002 and 2007. Both farms are located in the Douro. She has worked since the 2007 harvest as a consultant in different Alentejo producers, namely Tiago Cabaço Wines, Herdade do Barrocal, Monte dos Cabaços and Monte da Raposinha.</p>
