Located in the valley of the river near the village of Pine Nut Mendiz Valley, the origin of Quinta do Passadouro dates back to the eighteenth century, emerging referenced in the famous Douro map prepared by Forrester Baron. In 1991, Dieter Bohrmann, a German businessman in love with the Douro, decided to buy it. He believed that with the high quality of the Douro grapes, it was possible not only produce Port, but also high-end table wines. His idea was to reserve some of the best batches of production with the goal of creating a red wine premium quality, the greatest expression of this terroir is able to offer.
